Pain has a few possible causes. Neuromuscular therapy is designed to address five of them:

  1. Ischemia, or a lack of blood flow
  2. Trigger points or irritated muscle tissue that refers pain to other parts of the body
  3. Nerve pressure or compression
  4. Poor posture
  5. Pain caused by exertion

“As a surgeon, I am constantly demanding my back and neck to be in positions that aren’t always comfortable for lengthy periods of time. In the past, I suffered from tension headaches and generalized soreness because of this. Since I started seeing Diane for Neuromuscular Massage, I have not had a headache and feel more relaxed, loose, and pain free, even after a long surgery.
Diane is a powerhouse and her therapy has in turn helped me to take better care of my patients and enjoy the other activities in my life more!”

Neuromuscular therapy can also relieve chronic headache pain. By applying pressure to the cervical lamina, as demonstrated in the photo below, we can relieve the muscle tension that can cause headaches.
